West of Scotland Junior League

On 1 June 1914 Cathcart wanted a GJL second division, but a new West of Scotland League comprising of Cathcart, Naval Construction, Oatlands, Bourock Thistle, Mearns Pollok, Howwood, Cumbernauld, Glenboig, Cameronians, Langside Athletic, Hampden XI etc would be an alternative.
By July 1914 the league had seven members, with AIrdrie making the eighth club.

On 16 November 1914 Wellington considering leaving owing to irregularity of fixtures while Caledonian appealed against their suspension reasoning subordinate leagues cannot suspend member clubs for debt unless they have taken part in their competition.

Wellington and Airdrie had only one defeat apiece at the season's end and were scheduled to play a decider on 12 June 1915.

The result of this game, if it took place, is not known, and in any case the league was wound up and disbanded.
