The final was supposed to be played at East End Park on Friday 27 May but earlier in the day Lochgelly requested that the game be postponed until Tuesday and switched to Cowdenbeath. As this was after the cut-off date imposed by the SFA, the local newspaper reported that ‘it is expected that the trophy will be awarded to the Athletic’.
